Narcotics was used for relieving pain, dulling the senses, and inducing sleep. Narcotics are made from a variety of things. Most narcotics are plant-based products like opium and its derivatives like morphine.

Narcotics are used only to reduce or stop pain in the body, but it's helped by other types of pain killers. When used carefully and under a doctor's direct care, these drugs can be effective at reducing or stopping pain.

Narcotics are drugs that have been prescribed to someone, but are used by those they have not been prescribed to. Many teens abuse Narcotics by buying them from other teens/adults. Other teens steal medications from parents such as OxyContin, and sell them to teens at school. This is illegal, and many teens become addicted to Narcotics. Most narcotics have opium, "the joy plant", in them. Even if others are doing it DON'T DO IT YOURSELF!!

The penalties also will depend on the amount of illegal narcotics and other factors like the death of someone due to narcotics.

The continued use and abuse of narcotic drugs can result in physical dependence and addiction. The human body can adapt to the narcotic drug, if the body doesn't sense the narcotic, the body can go through withdrawal symptoms, like bone and muscle pain, insomnia, diarrhea, vomiting, restlessness, and cold flashes. All of these symptoms can get worse if you keep using narcotic drugs.

Using narcotic drugs, like heroin during pregnancy increases the chance of premature birth, low birth weight, breathing difficulties, low blood sugar or hypoglycemia, bleeding in the brain, and infant death. Infants can also be born addicted to narcotic drugs and can suffer from withdrawal symptoms. symptoms include irritability, convulsions, diarrhea, fever, sleeping problems, and the stiffness of joint in your body. Any mother the is taking narcotic drugs during pregnancy can get the condition called HIV, and they can passed it to their unborn baby or babies.
