Lil Steamer Families --
We're going to be on the news!!
We had a tremendous outpouring of community and family support during our two week Books Are Fun Book Blast held January 29 through February 9. Our regional coordinator stated that this was one of the most successful first-year programs that he has ever been a part of!
We currently have 447 students in grades PK thru 5. And we have a total of 3,291 books that will be provided to them! In addition, each student is going to receive a minimum of 5 books and students whose donors went above and beyond will receive up to 10 books!
On top of that, almost 80% of our students earned prizes such as ninja monkey toys, and LED disco ball, and a glow-in-the-dark blanket for simply completing their treasure map and sending the link out to family members!
Thank you for making this such a success and getting books into the hands of our Lil Steamers. Our unwrapping parties for the books will be Monday morning, so look for our news story on KWQC on Monday or Tuesday evening!

Time management can be a challenge for busy children. Here are some activities you can do with your child to teach time management:
Create a list of things your child needs to do throughout the week. Rank them by importance with your child. Post the list on the fridge or somewhere it will be seen during the week.
Decide when is the best time for your child to do their homework. Are they better off getting it done as soon as they get home so that they can relax for the rest of the night? Make sure they know your expectations as to when homework will get done.
Set goals as a family. Discuss what should be done first and why.
Plan time as a family. Set aside time each week for family time. Watch movies or cook dinner together, whatever works for your family. Make this time a priority.

Baby Chicks!
Baby chicks came to KA this week. The students loved being able to hold them and watch them walk around the carpet. Special thanks to Mrs. Bonneur for sharing her chicks with us!
Glow Day '24!
Kindergarten students in KA had a glowing fun time on Firday for Glow Day. Students wrote CVC words, wrote their names and the letters of the alphabet. The also did a Write the Room looking for sight words using our special glow pens (aka highlighters)!
During math, they wrote their numbers and did additon with glow in the dark dice. They were able to build cubes with a glow in the dark fort kit.
After all our hard work, KA students designed art work on Lite-Brights, played glow in the dark tic-tac-toe, built a tower with glow in the dark cups, and played mini golf!
We had a fun day!
Ag in the classroom in 2B
Ag in the classroom visited 2B recently and we had a blast learning about soil! We learned all about keeping our soil healthy so that we can grow the best crops. The best way to keep our soil healthy is by keeping worms in our soil!! Our worm exploration activity was so much fun!
