Skaggs Elementary Newsletter
May 19, 2022
Dear Families,
We've had more staff celebrations at Skaggs this week. Of course, you've heard about Mrs. Walker, our librarian, being named the Plano ISD Elementary Teacher of the Year. On top of that, Mrs. Barbara McDaniel (cafeteria manager) and Mrs. Wajeeha Qamar (substitute) each got recognized as one of the top Plano 100 Paraprofessionals in the district. This is such a celebration! If you can recall, we had a few more staff members that got a district-level recognitions earlier this year as well. Once again, it proves that we have the best group of professionals teaching our students. We are truly blessed!
We look forward to a full week filled with fun and celebrations next week! See you there!
Sincerely,
Karen Lee / Christy James
Classroom Assignments for 2021-2022
It is now time to think about teacher assignments for the upcoming school year. Assigning students to classrooms is a very detailed and time-intensive process for both teachers and administrators. We look at each child individually as we place him/her in a class for the following year. Many factors are considered, including student learning styles, teaching styles, personalities, amount of structure needed, emotional needs, etc. You can be assured that we will be extremely diligent in carefully considering every aspect as we form classes for the 2022-2023 school year.
- If you would like to share a special request regarding the class in which your child is placed next year, please submit, in writing, information about the type of teacher who you feel would be the best match for your child.
- The letter is due Friday, May 27, 2022. Your request can be emailed to karen.lee@pisd.edu.
- Please know that we will NOT accept requests for a specific teacher.
- Please do not email unless you have a special request.
