Green Team Weekly Update
Week of 4/6-4/10
Classroom Happenings
ELA- Mrs. Forderhase
This week in ELA, students continued their study of author’s purpose. Students read a short article and viewed a video in order to determine their purpose. Students responded to writing prompts every day to continue to build their writing habits. I provided students feedback on last week’s writing in Google classroom. Students should continue to read for at least 15 minutes a day. Thank you as always for your support during this difficult time. Stay well!
Science- Mrs. Kenney
This week in science, we continued with our Waves Unit. Students started with an online simulation showing water, sound, and light waves. Then, students learned about general waves terms including longitudinal and transverse waves. Finally, students watched a short video on waves and answered questions about the video. Students received assignments in Google Classroom. Instructions for each assignment and due dates are posted in Google Classroom. Please email or call with any questions or concerns.
Social Studies- Mr. Ward
This week in Social Studies students worked to complete vocabulary that is essential for our Civil Rights Unit. Students defined terms dealing with the Civil War and Civil War/Reconstruction. After completing the vocabulary assignment, students participated in a History Investigation. Students analyzed evidence, made meaning of that evidence, and then made a prediction about the political, economic, and social-cultural development of the United States before the Civil War. Please feel free to email me with any questions or concerns. I hope you are all doing well and thank you for your support.
