Lunch in the Garden and News!
Everybody, every day, whatever it takes! March 26th
Academic News and Highlights!
Oak Park has a lot of proud things to share! We celebrated Spring Break Lexia and Lexia Packet work this past Friday with outside time and snow cones. It was amazing to see the number of students who worked hard over break. Kindergarten came out on top this break. They had thirty-three students who turned in Lexia Trackers/Packet Work! First and Second grade followed in second and third place. They had a number of participants that loved their snow cones! Thank you for supporting our mission to PROFICIENCY and SOARING to the TOP! In addition, Saturday School began this weekend. We had a number of students joining the academic support program this past Saturday. We are working to get Saturday School participants computers to support Lexia learning at home until the middle of May. Our goal is to reach one hundred students. Mr. Thompson is working hard to get computers ready for at home use. The home must have wi-fi for the computer to work. The goal is for students to complete 30 minutes of Lexia nightly. Computers will be returned after FAST/STAR Assessments are completed in May. Mr. Thompson was able to provide thrity-one students with computers this past Saturday and plans on another batch this coming Saturday. :) If your child did not receive a Saturday School invite, please work with your classroom teacher. We have a few seats available in first, second, third, fourth and fifth grades.
Kindergarten Roundup: If your child will be entering Kindergarten for the 2023-2024 school year, please plan on coming to Oak Park Elementary on April 6th! Please spread the word if you have friends and neighbors whose child will be ready to enter Kindergarten next school year.
Thank you,
Mrs. McDonough, Principal
