Winston Campus Elementary has won a 2021 Thrive Award!
We are proud to announce that Winston Campus Elementary has received GreatSchools.org’s 2021 Thrive Award!
The first-of-its-kind award recognizes and celebrates public schools in Illinois that demonstrate positive, supportive learning environments, based on student and staff responses to the Illinois State Board of Education’s annual 5Essentials Survey. Survey results provide an overview of a school’s climate — information that’s important for families to understand but not easy to find.
Winston Campus Elementary is one of 452 schools across Illinois to receive the inaugural Thrive Award, which was given to only Illinois schools because of the Illinois State Board of Education’s transparent data policy that makes this critical school information publicly available.
We applaud the dedication of our students, teachers, staff, and families in making this recognition possible!
We currently have a 15% Parent Response Rate. We need at least 20 more parent to respond in order to get our results!
You have been invited to complete the Illinois 5Essentials Parent Survey. The information you provide will help guide improvement as we strive to inspire each student to realize their potential through the education and opportunities we provide at Winston Campus Elementary. Your participation in this survey is voluntary but crucial. We can’t receive results from the survey unless at least 20 percent of parents respond. The more responses parents provide, the more we will know how to focus our efforts toward the improvements you want. Therefore, we have set a goal to reach an 80 percent response rate. Please help us reach our goal by completing the survey.
· Go to: https://survey.5-essentials.org/Illinois to take the survey.
· Select “Parent Survey.”
· You may enter your email address if you would like to receive confirmation of your submission, but it is not required.
· Then enter “Cook” into the county field and “Winston Campus Elementary” to find our school.
You will then be asked a series of questions to provide input regarding your family’s experience here at Winston Campus Elementary School. Please remember to click “submit” once you are done so your responses can be counted.
Please know that your identity and responses will be kept confidential and will not be connected to your child. If you have multiple children who attend Winston Campus Elementary, you may complete one survey for each child. However, only one parent per household may submit a survey for a given child. The survey closes on March 11, so please submit your responses soon!
Thank you in advance for your time and input. We appreciate you!
If you have any questions about the survey, please contact 5Essentials Customer Support at 1-866-440-1874 or 5essentials@uchicago.edu.
Orland Park Dental Services
Community Consolidated School District 15 will be hosting Orland Park Dental Services (OPDS) coming up in March through May. OPDS has provided in-school dental services for all eligible children in the State of Illinois since 1999. Dental services will be accessible to children eligible for public aid as well as for those with private insurance.
Anyone signed up will receive a free dental exam and a toothbrush. For those that qualify or provide private insurance information, the additional services may include cleaning, fluoride treatment, and sealants. All services done will be given to the child in a take-home form describing the services determined, areas of concern, overall oral care score, and any additional care needed. If any additional help is needed for the child a comprehensive list of available local dentists will be given with no limits of insurance. All these in-school services will be provided by licensed dentists, hygienists, and assistants with state-of-the-art portable equipment and ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable environment at your child’s school.

Online student registration for the 2022-23 school year is now open!
Online student registration for the 2022-23 school year is now open. If you have not already started this process for your student(s), please visit our registration page to start this process.
Registration is the first step in getting ready for the up-coming school year. After you register your child online you need to:
Pay student fees. Our student fee webpage outlines the District’s student fee structure and the three ways fees can be paid.
If you have a student that is starting Kindergarten, entering fourth grade, or entering 7th grade, you are required to prove residency in District 15. Our residency webpage outlines the documents you will need to provide to prove residency.
All three steps of the enrollment process must be completed prior to the start of the school year. Students of families that, when required, do not prove residency, will not be able to attend class in a District 15 until the family’s residency is verified.
LOOKING FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION?
View the recorded CCSD15 Parent University sponsored registration webinar. For written registration instructions, please watch our Campus Parent - An Introduction.
In the event that a family is unable to provide any needed documentation because of a temporary living situation, please contact Julie O'Hara, 847-963-3210, oharaj@ccsd15.net; or Min Goodwin, 847-963-3209, goodwinm@ccsd15.net, in the Superintendent's Office.
Think you may be eligible for a student fee waiver? Visit our student fee webpage to learn about the requirements and how to apply.
Think you may be eligible for services under the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act? Please contact Tiffanie Jefferies, Ed.D., Director of Student Services, 847-963-3152.
Thank you.

Submitting Your Child’s Completed Vaccination Card
If your child has received both doses of the vaccine, we ask that you please submit a copy of it to your school nurse, Menka San Pietro, sanpietm@ccsd15.net. Fully vaccinated individuals are not identified as close contacts, and therefore, not excluded from school if there is a positive COVID case (as long as they remain asymptomatic). This documentation is very important during our contact tracing efforts. Families will continue to be notified if a student is identified as a close contact so they are aware to monitor for potential symptoms.
