How are we learning about MLK?
There are just some of the activities planned to celebrate Dr. King's birthday:
1st grade- We will read books, sing songs, and the students will read and color their own book about him.
2nd grade- We watch his "I Have a Dream" speech. The kids are always excited to see him and hear his voice!
3rd grade- We will respond to the following writing prompt: Martin Luther King Jr. wanted the world a better place for everyone. What are 5 things you can do TODAY to make the world a better place for all races and ethnicities?
4th grade- By traveling to different stations in our classroom, we will be taking a Dr. MLK virtual field trip.
5th grade- Students will talk about dreams they have and why they are their dreams. They will write MLK's dream next to their own dream. Afterwards, students find words to describe the word dream and use the letters of DREAM to write attributes.
8th grade- We will be watching the I Had a Dream speech, talking about the importance of the Civil Rights Act, and looking at primary sources.

Opportunity for Families~
Join us for a Lourdes Prayer Experience!
Date: Sunday, February 5th
Time: 4:00 - 5:30 pm
Location: St. Bernard Church
In 1858, Mary appeared 18 times to a young girl in Lourdes, France. The grotto and spring where she appeared became a place of prayer, healing and
miracles. Today, over 6 million people visit Lourdes annually and continue to experience God’s goodness and Mary’s motherly intercession. But, since we can’t bring you to Lourdes, we’re bringing Lourdes to you!
- Learn about St. Bernadette
- Hear stories of documented miracles & healings
- Touch the rock from the grotto
- Receive your own Holy Water from the spring
- Eucharistic Adoration
- Candlelight Rosary
This interactive prayer experience is open to all ages and is great for families! For more information, contact Sarah Daszczuk at (414) 258-2604.
