Patriot's Pointe
Happy Sunday Patriot Families!
Greetings Patriot Families,
Our students and teachers are gearing up for EOPA/EOC/AP/IB testing. We will begin the week with End of Pathway testing on Monday! Over the weekend, our AP students came to the school to engage in a mock AP Exam for AP World History and AP U.S. History. A special thank you to Mrs. Cleary and Ms. Douglas for facilitating this opportunity for our students to practice their skills. Additionally, our students showed up for MTSS Success Saturday where students could take advantage of additional time to recover assignments just in time for the next progress reporting period. Thank you to Mrs. Beecham and Mrs. Dossie for leading this effort to assist our students who need that extra opportunity! Please plan to join us on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 for our School Council Meeting. Superintendent Dr. Jonathan Patterson will join us for this meeting at 7:15am in the Media Center. Details for this meeting can be found further down in the newsletter.
We cannot stress the importance of on-time arrival to school and full attendance each day. Teachers have been identifying areas of strengths and opportunities with all of our students and will be capitalizing on the next few weeks to provide instructional support where needed. Parents, here is how you can help to support your scholar at home. We are providing you with a host of 2024 EOC Resources that your scholar can review at home. These resources contain the blueprint, assessment guide, and achievement level descriptors for each tested subject: Algebra Concepts and Connections, American Literature, Biology, and U.S. History. We encourage you to have your student utilize the example and practice problems as a guideline for what to expect on each assessment. Additional details on AP/IB/EOPA testing will be provided by those teachers.
Last week was a busy week at The Creek! We started our week off with a unique educational experience to view the solar eclipse and student Avery Morgan captured a great photo of the moment! Fayette County Board of Education gathered together this week to celebrate and recognize the Teacher of the Year from each of our schools! Our Varsity Boys Track team earned 1st place in the relays over the weekend in the Westminster Meet and our Girls finished in 4th place.
Congratulations to SCHS Teacher of the Year Mrs. Ashlee Jackson! Congratulations to our Spring sports for clenching the Region in Boys and Girls Soccer led by Coach Heard and Coach Tideback, Tennis Boys and Girls Region Champions led by Coach Bailey, and Baseball Region Champions led by Coach Carter and Coach Holmes. We had an attendance record turnout for our Soccer Senior Night and we are looking to double our attendance this week on Tuesday as Varsity Girls take on Franklin County and Varsity Boys take on Stephens County on Wednesday! Round 1 of both playoff games will begin at 6pm. Please make plans to support our amazing Soccer programs this week!
We are excited to support our students in their academic endeavors while providing them with a competitive advantage!

Friends and Family Sponsorship
We have a rich tradition in athletics here at Sandy Creek with more than 10 State Championships in sports such as football, basketball, track, and volleyball.
Our scoreboard was built in 1991 and we are in need of a new board to match our dynamic and talented athletic teams. The vision at Sandy Creek High School is to provide students a competitive advantage in whatever endeavor they choose after high school. With your assistance we can help the students prepare for those endeavors while branding your business and supporting our community. Please view the information attached about the sponsorship and digital scoreboard.
We would like to recognize our FIRST Family Sponsor, The Harvey Family! The Harvey Family has donated $1,000 to our scoreboard fundraiser and we are hoping you can match or double their contribution soon! Who will be next to accept the challenge????
Corporate Sponsorship
SCHS hopes that your company would be interested in becoming a premier sponsor for our digital scoreboard program! Parents of Rising 11th grade Students
As your child transitions to the 11th grade, we want to ensure their health and safety remains our top priority. This is a reminder regarding the meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MCV4) booster dose requirement for students who have turned 16 years old.
According to the Department of Public Health (DPH) guidelines, students are due for one booster dose of the meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MCV4), unless their initial dose was administered on or after their 16th birthday.
Please note that the DPH will be conducting an audit of 11th-grade students at SCHS on September 6, 2024. To facilitate compliance and ensure your child's participation in school activities is not disrupted, we kindly urge you to take this opportunity to schedule your child's vaccination appointment before September 6, 2024.
Student Parking passes are available all year for $60 and should be displayed in the bottom corner of the driver's side windshield.

The road to college acceptance comes with a lot of uncertainties. Doorway to College can help reduce your young scholar's anxiety about preparing for college entrance exams and applying to college. Our mission is to help students like yours make a successful transition from high school to higher education.
Doorway to College, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, evolved from a 30-year history of serving college-bound high school students. Doorway to College Foundation is continuing the work of the former ZAPS Learning Company, which was also dedicated to providing quality test prep to students who can't afford hundreds of dollars — or more — to raise their scores.

The Campus Parent portal is your source for student and family records, including household and individual contact information, attendance, school-based fees, academic planning (high school), forms, and report cards. The Parent portal also provides access to the GaDOE SLDS Portal. Please set up the parent Infinite Campus account first. The same username will be shared with Schoology to set up your parent account in Schoology. Because each login reflects the person associated with the username, it is recommended that a separate account is created for each parent.
- Usernames can be comprised of letters, numbers, the underscore, and dash.
- Please refrain from creating a username that is all numbers, as that will interfere with student data here in our district.
- After completing the setup of your parent portal account, please allow 24 hours for your new account information to be sent to Schoology before attempting to log into your Schoology parent account.
