A Note From Mr. Meyers
BGV Families,
Just like every year, our students took their benchmark reading and math assessments in August. We are proud that this year our scores were higher than previous years and the typical summer learning loss was minimal. Thank you for everything you do at home to support the success of the students of BGV! We are ready to have an amazing 2021-2022 school year.
Thanks,
Mr. Meyers

Students have been working so hard this month. I can hardly believe all of the topics we have covered in such a short time. In Social Studies we have been working on important people in history, which is tying into what we are learning in 3rd grade reading. It is exciting to see the students make connections and recognize people from history. In Science we are working on changes in matter. We are doing experiments about solids, liquids, and gases.
In Math, 3rd grade is currently working on adding and subtracting three digit numbers. They are doing so well. 2nd grade is working on word problems and we have just started pictographs and bar graphs.
We have also started doing some directed drawing on Thursdays. I am very impressed with how well they are doing. I hope they are showing you their creations when they bring them home.
Thank you so much for entrusting me with these wonderful, lively children. They make me smile everyday.
