Students applying for AVID or Peer Ambassador classes should have turned in applications. Interviews for AVID will begin soon!
Enrollment for Summer School has begun! Columbia SUNsation will run from June 2-26. Summer School operates at the same times as the regular school year. Start/end times are listed on the district website www.cpsk12.org. Summer School forms are available in the Counseling Office.
Summer School keeps the mind and body active. It is also a great way to orient students to a new building. While we encourage all students to take Summer School, we especially recommend it for transition years as it introduces students to the building, other students, and many of the teachers who work in the building in the fall. If you have not signed up your student for Summer School yet, don't delay. Deadline for registration is April 17th. High School classes fill up quickly, so if your student is a rising 9th grader, act quickly!
Traditionally, now is the time when the Third Quarter Slump tends to set in. Students, now is NOT the time to give up! You have made it this far; there is no quitting now. Dig your heels in a little, ask for help, and put the extra effort in to find success. Parents, sometimes it feels easier to save the student, however, allowing your student to fall down and helping him/her climb back up teaches a true life lesson.
