News from the Principal's Office
A&M Consolidated High School
Reflections from Elder's Desk
Thank you to Debbie Lange for her organization in planning our Day of Review and to each of you for your flexibility in thinking outside of the box to address our students' needs. Seniors specifically focused on life lessons and skills to strengthen their decision making capacity. For example, Agri-Life provided some statistical information about drinking and driving and how their choices can impact their future. Finally, Sgt. Lopez from College Station Police Department provided information on social medial etiquette and how students should interact. "Nothing is ever permanently deleted--we have technology that can recover anything that is posted on social media." This statement was eye-opening and was definitely something our students needed to hear.
Our first PTO Showcase was a huge success, and students' parents saw a variety of programs and were impressed with our student leaders and the caliber programs we offer at AMCHS. Kudos to our student leaders who represented our school well!
There is no doubt that last week was a roller coaster ride; however, we must be mindful of how we decide to ride. As we venture through the last month of school, please adhere to the expectations that are outlined in AMCHS Teacher & Staff Expectations, ProEthica, Electronic Communications Policy and the Social Media Policy for CSISD.
As you yearn for summer break, do not let up! Though each day brings new challenges, you will make it through. Continue to put your best foot forward and push your way through the rest of the year. We are committed to excellence in everything we undertake.
