When you are picking your child up at the end of the day ...
As the weather is getting nicer I’ve noticed an issue that has come up in the end-of-the-day pick up line to the north of the school. It gets long and it doesn’t move.
If you are picking up your child and are going to leave your vehicle, please park in a parking spot, not in the pick up line.
The line is intended to move forward. If you’re parked there and not in your vehicle then the line doesn’t move. Some people don’t want to or can’t get out of their vehicle and those are the people who should be in the line.
If you are in a vehicle that is directly north of the school and blocked by the building your child cannot see you to know you are there.
Thank you for your help with this matter.

How to Prepare Your Child for the M-STEP Test
2. Tell your child you believe in them and praise them when they work hard at things.
3. Do your best to have them get a good night's sleep before the test.
4. Tell them to work hard on the test and to take it seriously. If you think they are prone to worry about it then maybe skip this.
5. Encourage your child to relax and remain positive.
COVID Letter to Parents
April 15, 2021
Dear Parents and Students,
We were notified today that an individual in the elementary school has a positive case of COVID-19. Mrs. Roys and I immediately contacted the Lapeer County Health Department.
Due to this exposure, Mrs. Maday’s second grade class is being quarantined. The dates of possible exposure were April 12 and 13. The quarantine will last through April 27, returning to school on Wednesday, April 28. All other students, including siblings of the quarantined students, are to report to school as normal tomorrow.
For Mrs. Maday’s class there will be no instruction tomorrow, Friday, April 16. It will start on Monday, April 19. Mrs. Maday will contact parents of quarantined students with your virtual instruction schedule by Friday afternoon. If you need to borrow a Chromebook please contact our front office.
At this time, due to the cleaning and social distancing measures put into place, no other classrooms or individuals in the building are affected.
As a precaution, Lapeer County Health Department is asking anyone with symptoms of COVID-19 to self-isolate for 14 days to avoid potentially exposing others. That means not attending school, staying home, and interacting with as few people as possible.
Remember, the symptoms of COVID-19 are not your usual runny nose and sneezing. Instead, COVID-19 symptoms include fever of >100.4, dry cough, and shortness of breath. Symptoms can also mimic milder illnesses. Should your child develop milder cold-like symptoms testing would be warranted. Symptoms may appear in as few as two days or as long as 14 days after exposure to the virus. If you feel well, you do not need to be tested. If you do become ill, call your doctor before going into the office. Testing will be determined based on risk assessment.
Other people in your household are not under quarantine. If you have other children they should report to school as normal. Please monitor symptoms and report them to the school and the Lapeer County Health Department.
To prevent the spread of COVID-19, people should:
Stay home if you’re sick
Wash their hands frequently
Avoid close contact with sick people
Disinfect commonly touched surfaces
Avoid touching your face; avoid shaking hands
Follow suggested guidelines for social distancing
If you have specific questions or concerns that we can address, please do not hesitate to call or email us.
Sincerely,
Mary Finnigan
Karen Roys
