Principal Newsletter
From the Desk of Mrs. Riley
May 27, 2021
Dear Parents,
Next week, our Prekindergarten and Kindergarten classes come to a close. We will certainly miss their smiles and exuberance in the building for the last week of school. They have all grown and flourished under the guidance of their teachers. Many thanks to their families for their support in making this year so successful for them. A special thank you to their teachers for their dedication and commitment under the extraordinary circumstances of this school year! We look forward to welcoming them back in September!!
The last Principal's Newsletter will be released next Thursday, June 3rd. On Thursday, June 10th, my End of Year Letter to parents with school updates and teacher placements for next year will be sent to all of our school families. The 2021-2022 School Year Calendar has now been posted on the school website.
May God bless our service men and women, especially those members of our school families, who died while protecting our freedoms. They are remembered in our school prayers in a very special way over this Memorial Day weekend.
On this Memorial Day, we bow our heads and our hearts to You, Lord, that we may remember those who paid the ultimate price by giving their lives for their country. We can never be grateful enough for the sacrifices they made, and we are humbled by their willingness to put their own lives aside for the benefit of ours. Lord, carve their sacrifices into our hearts so we may never forget the loss of these heroes.
Thank you for your constant support and prayers for our school. I encourage you to continue to support our work as we advance our mission to provide a transformative education steeped in academics and faith to our deserving students. There is no greater investment for forming our future saints than a Catholic education!
Please carefully review this week's newsletter for many reminders and updates. We thank you for entrusting your children to us and for the sacrifices you make each day to send your child(ren) to Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic School.
God's peace,
Mrs. Barbara Riley
Principal
REMINDER: SCHOOL WILL BE CLOSED FRIDAY, MAY 28TH AND MONDAY, MAY 31ST IN OBSERVANCE OF THE MEMORIAL DAY HOLIDAY
Fall Auction (3rd Annual) - Parent Help Needed!
Planning for our 3rd Annual Fall Auction, our biggest parent fundraiser of the year, will be starting this summer. To get an idea of basket donations and business sponsorships, P.I.E. has pulled together the Signup Genius below.
Although the actual baskets/donations/ad payments won’t be due until the Fall, we need an idea of what families might be interested in donating before the summer.
Please take a look and fill in how you can help! Thank you!!!

2021-2022 Social Event Volunteers
We are in the process of preparing for our school social events for next calendar year 2021-2022. We are looking forward to being able to have fun as a school community! As we prepare, we are in need of parent volunteers to help coordinate and support these events. Each event will need at least 1 - 2 parents to chair/coordinate and an additional 3 - 4 parents to support on the day of the event with volunteering and clean up.
Events cannot happen without parent support!!! If there are any events that have zero signups, we will unfortunately have to remove the event from the calendar.
Thank you in advance for your support and please see the Signup Genius below.
