6th Grade Multicultural Fair
On Thursday May 17th the 6th grade group had a chance to engage in a Multicultural STEM Activity event Sponsored by Rockwell Collins. This event offered phenomenal activities using hands-on science, technology, engineering and math (S.T.E.M.). The organization has three signature exhibits designed to help children discover interesting and important opportunities in S.T.E.M. focused careers. The Multicultural Educational component of this event is to inspire, empower and encourage underrepresented and undeserved people to pursue their education in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). Our Guest from this event were from Rockwell Collins, African American Engineers, and The University of Iowa Hawk Eyes on Science Program. Again we want to thank our students for representing Franklin well with their engagement and great questions. We also want to thank everyone that volunteered their time to make this a successful event. And a big thank you to our guest for sharing their time and expertise with us.
Upcoming Activity Day
- 6th Grade: Solid Waste Agency, Landfill, and Activities at school
- 7th Grade: Movie Theater & Guthridge Park
- 8th Grade: Canoe Trip in Monticello
It will be a great way to end the year, enjoying one another's company and celebrating the great things accomplished.

Summer Meals Volunteers pick up meals from Horizons, deliver to a site, and distribute the meals to the children, making sure the site operates in accordance with USDA guidance and requirements.
