The American Revolution
The French and Indian War
In the French and Indian war, France and Britain were fighting over the Ohio Valley. The Indians(Native Americans) fought for both sides, but most of them fought with the French. Spain helped France fight against the British, but they lost. To make up for the loss of Spain, France gave most of Louisiana to Spain. Britain was losing at first, but then they got warships to block the battle area so no more French soldiers could get through. So the British won the war and took over Ohio Valley.
The Boston Tea Party
Ever since the British put a tax on tea, the colonists were angry and started boycotting it. Some members of the Continental Congress dressed up as Mohawk Indians and threw tea into the Boston Harbor. This became known as the Boston Tea Party.
