From the Principals...

Strategic Planning Survey
Unit 5 is continuing to seek input from students, staff, families, and community members as we work on updating our strategic plan. This anonymous survey will help shape the vision and values of the district as well as help Unit 5 prioritize future work. The survey will remain open until Friday, November 24, 2023. The survey results will be summarized and shared at a future board meeting.
Here is a link to the survey.
Congratulations to our Positive Principal Referrals this month...
Good news from 8A...
Each month, Team Infinity teachers select students who have consistently displayed positive personal and educational characteristics across the core classes. We look specifically for the traits of Grit, Responsibility, Respect, Integrity, Invested in Learning, Tenacity, and Teamwork. Congratulations to our September and October Team Infinity GRIT winners! We are proud of you and appreciate your hard work!
12th Annual Adopt-a-Family - It's better to give than to receive celebration!!
We have surpassed the 150 family mark!!! The need is just so great this year.
We are inviting all Unit 5 employees to participate in the 13th Annual Adopt-a-Family - It's Better to Give than to Receive celebration.
All Unit 5 schools were invited to nominate families in need this holiday season. Unit 5 provides coats, hats, and gloves (donated by Normal Rotary) and our generous donors provide outfits, toys, gift cards, and many other household items and toiletries.
* If you are interested in helping, please go to a signup (below), click the item you would like to purchase, label the gift (example: Snowflake Child #1) and bring the gift wrapped and labeled.
The drop off will be on from 3-6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8, at Northpoint Elementary School. Participants will drive thru and drop off gifts in the Northpoint Parking Lot. Unit 5 volunteers will be available to take your gifts into the gym.
You can also drop off gifts on Mondays-Fridays from 7:30 am–4 pm at the Unit Office, until Dec. 7.
If you would like to volunteer to deliver gifts, Saturday, December 9, starting at 8:30 am, please click here.
If you have any additional questions, please let Dayna Brown know.
Thank you so much for making a difference in the lives of so many Unit 5 students. You are all Un-BELIEVE-able! It truly IS.....Better to Give than to Receive!
