Egg Harbor Township High School
Week of March 17, 2024
A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL
Dear EHTHS Families and Staff,
As we finish out another week here at Egg Harbor Township High School, I am excited to share with you the latest updates of activities and achievements.
Ms. Moody and her CP Physics students have been working on a project of creativity and innovation! Collaborating in groups, they've taken on the challenge of constructing roller coasters using 12 feet of insulation tubing. Each group infuses their coaster with a unique theme, showcasing their understanding of the Re-design Process and other key concepts learned throughout the year. Today, their projects come to life and we are excited to see the final product of their ingenuity and hard work.
In the spirit of Music in the Schools Month, our District 6-12 Choral Concert was a resounding success! Students from Fernwood & Alder Avenue Middle Schools joined forces with our Egg Harbor Township HS Choir under the direction of Mr. Richard Tinsley. The audience was treated to a variety of ensembles and repertoire throughout the evening. Thank you to our Directors, Mr. Tinsely, Mr. Guerrasio and Mrs. Weatherby for preparing the students for this awesome event. Thanks also to our collaborative accompanist, Mr. David Milnes, and our student percussionist, Chris De La Rosa. We are also grateful for the technical and operational support we receive from auditorium/technical advisor Mr. Jim House and our amazing Facilities and Transportation departments.
Yesterday, the Key Club hosted a 21 Down Party enjoyed by our high school and middle school students. The students enjoyed bonding time together over pizza, cupcakes, facepainting and laughter. At night, we hosted the spring Noche Latina Night, which once again saw great attendance from our Hispanic community members. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Schreiner, Ms. Dilks, and the rest of our staff for creating a warm and welcoming environment and for sharing valuable information with our parents. Of course, the delicious food was a hit as always!
Best of luck to the baseball team as they travel to Myrtle Beach to play in the Ripken Tournament and all of the other teams as they begin scrimmages and their regular season!
I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Ms. Carugno

CLIMATE AND CULTURE
#DAY 1
The High School will be continuing with this bullying-prevention program for this school year!
#DAY1--a staff and student-led philosophy that will serve to foster a building-wide atmosphere of kindness and inclusion.
This program was started a few years ago in Bergen County by the Tyler Clementi Foundation and has gained momentum throughout the state and country for use in schools, community groups, workplaces, and sports teams.
The premise is simple: the adults in the building make a “declaration statement” about behavior that is expected, as well as behavior that is unacceptable, and we all pledge to conduct ourselves accordingly. This includes seeking help when we witness unacceptable behavior occurring.
This notion is called being an #Upstander
Has your student taken their #Upstander Pledge yet?!?
Have them sign into their school account and click here! 😊
