VERIFY STUDENT ETHNICITY AND RACE
SCSD opportunity to identify student ethnicity/race
School districts in Washington state are required to report student data by ethnicity and race categories to the state's Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI). The expanded ethnicity and race categories are set by the federal government, the Washington state Legislature, and OSPI.
Please complete the form HERE to verify your student(s) ethnicity and race.
SAFETY REMINDERS
Thank you for your help in keeping our building secure. Families and students should follow these guidelines at Stanwood High School.
Students need to sign in when they arrive late to school. Students also need to sign out when they leave early. This information is helpful to check attendance and have on hand in case we have an emergency.
All visitors (including parents/guardians) need to sign in upon arrival and should only enter through the front (main) entrance.
Adults are now required to show ID to check out a student in the office.
Students should not open locked exterior doors for anyone. They should also not prop doors open.
Zero period students need to enter the building through the front (main) entrance. Upon entering the building, zero period students will go through the office to access the locker rooms.
Students should exit the school building by 2:30 p.m. unless they are being supervised by a staff member.
Students and families can use the SafeSchools Alert system or notify an administrator of any concerns (see information below).
NEW ONLINE PAYMENT PROGRAM
The Stanwood-Camano School District is implementing a new online payments portal called TouchBase.
With this system, parents/guardians can shop for items at their student's middle and high schools and pay fines/fees using credit or debit cards. A small transaction fee of $1.50 will be applied to your overall purchase. TouchBase is a secure site. This system will not be used for food service credit card payments. Parents will continue to utilize Revtrak for online food service payments.
Access the new TouchBase online portal HERE. Create a unique online payment password, then log in by using your Skyward Family Access username, and your new password.
If you do not have a Family Access login or need your login, please contact your child's school. It may take up to 24 hours after creating or updating your Skyward account before being able to log in.
We are excited to offer you a more robust online payment system! As a reminder, schools will also continue to accept cash and check payments onsite.
STUDENT SUPPORT ADVOCATE HELP OVER THE SUMMER
The Stanwood-Camano School District employs three Student Support Advocates (SSA) to help students and families get connected to needed resources, information and community services. Examples include: clothing, school supplies, medical/behavioral health access, food, hygiene items, and other basic needs. Student Support Advocates are located in all buildings: high school, middle schools and elementary schools and can be accessed directly by calling the SSA line at: 360-629-1480. This is a message line only so please leave a detailed message with your name, need and phone number, and one of the SSAs will return your phone call in a timely manner.

Family Communication
June 10, 2022
Hello Families,
As I was out in schools this week, I observed several groups of students and staff working together outdoors on cooperative learning projects. As you can see, the high school built and tested trebuchets, and others designed and flew weather balloons. It was wonderful to see the excitement and cooperation among these students and their teachers!
Employees of the Year
This week the School Board honored the 2021-22 Certificated and Classified Employees of the Year. They are Darryl Main, who has taught at Stanwood High School for 34 years, and Rosie Montenegro, custodian for Maintenance, Transportation, and the district office. We are so proud of them and grateful to Heritage Bank for sponsoring our Employee Recognition Program.
Special Recognition for Capital Projects
The Board also made a special recognition to Liz Jamieson, director of Capital Projects, in honor of her dedicated work managing the construction of the new Stanwood High School and a variety of other projects throughout the district. We are grateful to Liz for her dedicated service to our students, staff, and families.
Free Summer Meals Program
The Stanwood Camano School District announces the sponsorship of the Summer Food Service Program for children. Meals are available at no charge to children 18 years and younger.
Meals will be served at Twin City Elementary School and Stanwood High School Monday through Thursday, July 5 through August 25. Breakfast will be served 8:45-9:45 a.m. and lunch, from 10:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
\No late start Wednesday, June 15
Wednesday, June 15 is a full day of school. It is a makeup day for one of the days missed due to inclement weather earlier this year. Schools and buses will follow their regular full-day schedules.
