George Taliaferro
George Taliaferro was born in January 8, 1927 and is a professional football player. George was the first black NFL player. George was an African American to be drafted into the NFL and in honor of Black History Month. He fought against racism because he was black and couldn't do anything. He was facing racism from the NFL.
Gabby Douglas
Gabby Douglas was born in December 31, 1995 and is an American gymnast. Douglas is the first African American woman in the olympic history to become and individual all-around the world champion. Douglas was born in NewPort news, virginia to parents of Timmy Douglas and Natalie Hawkins. At age 8, Douglas won level 4 all-around the world gymnastics title at the 2004 Virginia state championships.
