Summit Middle School
Library and Technology News - Student Edition
March 2022
Students and Parents,
I hope everyone is doing well. I am definitely looking forward to warmer weather!
Last month the students enjoyed our book displays around the library: The Winter Olympics, Celebrate Black History Month and Blind Date with a Book.
Blind Date with a Book was a huge success. I appreciate all the 8th graders that helped create this display. The 8th graders selected one of their favorite books and wrapped it in colorful paper. Each 8th grader wrote a summary without giving away the title and decorated the covered book. Every book was checked out within the first 4 days, so I asked our Leadership students to provide more books for our display. We will definitely do this again next year. Over 180 books were checked out from this display alone.
This month the students will participate in an "All Edmond" March Book Madness. All six Edmond middle schools will be participating in this fun activity. Each week we will go through one round and students may vote on their favorite books. Check out our bracket in this newsletter. At the end of the month, we will have a favorite book chosen from all the middle school students in Edmond.
The Scholastic Book Fair will be returning March 31st through April 7th. More information is provided below in this newsletter.
Reminder: Please return your library books. If you have lost a book, use Spring Break as a great time to look for that book. Let me know if you still can't find it.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Williams

Chromebook Reminders:
- Don't forget to charge your Chromebook every night.
- Power off your Chromebook at least once a week.
- A quick fix for many Chromebook problems is to just remove the user and Power Off.
- Close tabs that you are not using; the more tabs that are open--the slower your Chromebook will be.
- Please delete old bookmarks and then bookmark them again through EPS bookmarks. This will solve many problems of corrupted links.
- Please bring your Chromebook to the library if it has any damage or isn't working properly.
- 7th graders: If your HP Chromebook has a loose hinge piece or you have lost the hinge piece, please bring it to the library to be fixed or replaced.
