Davenport's Weekly Update
Week of June 7th
A Message from the Principal
Greetings Davenport Families,
I hope this email finds you well! It’s hard to believe that the school year is coming to an end! I would like to thank all of our parents and guardians for a great job in helping to keep your children on task. Remote learning was not easy at times, but you did an outstanding job!
Please be advised that beginning next week, June 17th and June 18th from 10am to 4pm, to close out the 2019-20 school year, we will need for you to return all school issued supplies, retrieve student items, and settle any financial obligations that you may have (checks made payable to Davenport School or exact change ONLY).
Items to be returned are as follows; (All items should be labeled with student’s name, grade, and teacher’s name and placed inside of a labeled bag)
Leveled Readers
Library books
School issued Bookbags
Items to be picked up:
Student personal belongings and medication: If not already picked up.
Upon arrival at the school, you will be greeted and directed by a staff member. Be prepared to share the students first and last name, grade level and teacher name. Please remain in your cars. All elementary students, grades 2-3, will be picking up/dropping off materials at the Elementary Main Entrance. All primary students, grades Pre-K - 1st grade, will be picking up/dropping off materials at the Primary Main Entrance.
***Any student who borrowed a Chromebook will be REQUIRED to DROP-OFF the devices at Joy Miller School on Thursday, June 18th from 10am-4pm or Friday, June 19th from 7am-9am. Chromebooks will NOT be accepted at Davenport School.***
Once again, I cannot thank you enough for the cooperation and support you have shown over these past few months. I wish you a healthy, happy and safe summer!
Be well and be safe! #EHTStrong #EHTPride

Elementary "Plein Air" Drawings
Ms. Frisch gave Elementary Art students the assignment of creating "Plein Air" Drawings, which comes from a French word meaning "to draw outside." Ms. Frisch instructed the students to go outside, if they could, and look at a tree, a flower, a plant, bench, bird feeder, etc. and carefully draw what they see. The results are beautiful! Nothing like getting assignments done out in the fresh air : )
