Electives
Art (Bittinger): Students are going to start a productive thinking project called "What's In the Blinds?". They will create window blinds with an original character peering through the binds.
21st Century Skills (Pearson): Students will work on STEM podcasting, and continue blogging.
Band (Thomas): 8th Grade will work on Veterans Day Program, and will sign up for tutoring and helping other students.
FACS (K. Taylor): Students will learn to write check, balance checkbooks, and make change.
Choir (Trawick): Students are writing songs, and practicing for the Veterans Day program.
Peer Helpers (Blake): Students are working on can sculptures.
Pizza Party? Ice cream party?
Thanks to Blaine Kenny and Mitchell Koser for playing the National Anthem!
Clubs
TSA: Pancake money is due and they will be ordering club shirts.
NJHS: They will continue to make posters for Toys For Tots.
FCCLA: They will make blankets for the severely ill children at local hospitals.
YOGA: Yoga on Wednesdays until 4:00

MEET MS. MICHELE BENEFIELD
What inspired you to be a teacher?
Ms. Benefield said it was a second career for her. Her first career was a church choir director. She also likes working with kids, so it was natural for her.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
She said probably doing what she is doing now.
What is your favorite thing about summers?
Mrs. Benefield likes spending time with her kids and teacher workshops.
What has been your biggest challenge from teaching?
She said not getting overwhelmed with what to do and narrowing lessons down.
What are your hobbies outside of teaching?
Ms. Benefield likes to cook, teach piano, play the piano on her worship team, singing, writing, and photography.
