IMPERIALISM
DOMINIC REYES
WHAT IS IMPERIALISM?
Imperialism is an unequal human and territorial relationship, usually in a form of an Empire. Then based on ideas of superiority and the practice of dominance, and bringing the extension of authority and control of one state, or people over another. Imperialism is more narrowly dated to the era of colonial empires of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. Led by Great Britain, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, and the U.S., and later followed by Russia and Japan, principal powers of the world divided Asia into informal zones of influence, and then carved up the Pacific and Africa into new territorial, and mostly colonial.
