Nurses Corner: National Nutrition Month
In an attempt to highlight how much sugar is included in sugary drinks, I set up a display in the lunchroom for the 6-12th grade students. This visual demonstrated the equivalent of tablespoons of sugar included in each sugary drink. We discussed making changes to their beverage choices by substituting sugary drinks with healthier options. Junior high students were given water and sugar free/caffeine free flavor packets to sample. This gave students a chance to taste alternatives firsthand and be mindful of the variety of enjoyable choices without added sugar and caffeine.
We will have a donation jar at this weekend's musical performances. Thank you for supporting our Fine Arts Program.
