Hamlet Quotes
In Act I, Scene 5 of Hamlet by William Shakespeare, Hamlet mentions, "The time is out of joint" while in the Castle after his confrontation with the Ghost when the murder of his father by his unlce Claudius is mentioned. Which leads him to say this in a very serious tone eventually putting Hamlet down and has lead him to lose everything. Also realizing that order within Denmark will need to be restored, although Hamlet is so broken and lost. The quote describes that the situation in Denmark is not right, it is "out of joint." Hamlet is the physician who will have to restore order. Destiny has been forced off course, and Claudius has "dislocated" the path.
