Scholastic Book Fair - May 10th - May 14th!
Summer Reading Book Fair
May 10 th – 14 th
Buy One Get One Free
It’s Book Fair time again! The Scholastic Buy One Get One Free Fair is a wonderful opportunity for students to purchase new reading material for the summer. This Fair will be a “slimmed down” version of our Fall Fair but there will still be plenty of titles from which the students can choose. We will also not have most of the miscellaneous items (erasers, pencils, pens, etc.) – we will just have books and posters!
All books/posters will be offered at Buy One Get One Free (the lesser priced book/poster is
free). Feel free to send money in to school with your child or come and shop the Fair
personally. There is also a new payment option this Spring called eWallet – this is a digital
payment option that allows you to set up an account, with a pre-set spending limit, to be used
at the fair. You only get charged what is purchased. Please visit the Book Fair homepage below for more information and to set up your account.

The Book Fair will be located in the gym on Grandparent’s Day and in the Eagle’s Nest on
Monday and Tuesday. The book fair will be open during the following times:
Monday, May 13 th 8:30 am – 1:30 pm
Tuesday, May 14 th 11:30 am – 2:00 pm
Hope to see everyone at the Fair!

Here are a couple of reminders that might help the evening go more smoothly for you:
The Physical Education portion of the night is intended to be a sharing of learning and demonstration of a variety of sport/activity skills that were learned and practiced throughout the school year. Parents and siblings are encouraged to interact and try activities along with the students. There will be signs posted at activity areas that provide information about the activity and how it is connected to learning (Grade Level Outcomes). The signs will also provide any important safety guidelines and rules. Please click the link below to preview some information for the event:
The Art portion of the evening includes a school wide art show as well as end of the year portfolios. Each student will find their portfolio to take home above their cubby.
In the art room we will be printing fabric squares to be sewn into a wall hanging for the new art room. As we will be using acrylic paint, parents are encouraged to help their children with applying the paint and clean up to ensure the paint does not stain their clothes.
Thank you for your support of our programing.

Lost and Found
Please take a look at the items below and let us know if you recognize any of them. As many of you are aware, we tend to accumulate A LOT of lost items throughout the year. Each week we will send a picture of lost items for you to claim. If they are not claimed then we will ensure that they go to a donation center in our area. What is most helpful is if you label your child's clothing and school items. We can then easily identify the item and make sure that the lost item is found and hopefully also save you a trip to have to buy another one. Please label items such as jackets, sweatshirts, water bottles, and lunchboxes. Thank you for your help with this and looking forward to year with minimal lost items :) Please email Cathe Sweet at csweet@waukesha.k12.wi.us if you recognize any of the items.
You are welcome to come to school and look through the Lost and Found for your child's belongings, so you don't have to rely exclusively on our pictures.
Please contact us asap because all items will be donated on Friday, May 17th, 2019.

Thank you!
Grandparents/Grandfriend's Day has come and gone, however the memories will last forever. For some of you, it's your last year inviting your grandparents to your school, and for others there will be many more!
Thank you to each of our Grandparents/Grandfriends for your patience during our event. This event warms the heart to see each child share memories. I would like to personally thank each of you who donated treats, drinks and paper goods. Without your generous nature, this day wouldn't be as special! Thank you to so many volunteers taking time out of their busy schedules to lend a hand for a couple hours during set up, serving, greeting, helping grandparents to classrooms, clean up and running the Book Fair. Gratitude for our PTO Board and Families, supporting the time honored tradition of Grandparents/Grandfriends Day!! Again, this day would not be as successful without each of you. A big shout out "Thank you" to our dynamic duo Book Fair Team, Diana Marino and Angie Jacobson. The two of you, with the help of many others, are amazing and hard working. Your last one...you will be missed!
Thank you to Jonel Snider for making coffee one last year! You have kept our eyes wide open to take in all of the memories with your delicious brew. Thank you Rose Glen Staff and Janitorial Staff for always chipping in and lending a hand where needed; you brighten our day! Gratitude to each of our Teachers for their patience and creative Grandparent fun they provide during the event. Thank you to Principal Nikolic for her kind soul, helping with set up and keeping the morning moving along cheerfully. Blessings and gratitude to St. John Neumann Church for allowing us to use your parking lot for our families to stay safe. Thank you to the bus company who keeps each of our loved ones safe during the shuttle ride. Last, but not least, THANK YOU Michelle Kuokkanen! Michelle has run Grandparents Day for over 12 years now! You are amazing! Hard to believe this is your LAST year at Rose Glen. I am so proud to be a part of this close community of families at Rose Glen. Thank you to each and every one of you.
Thank you so much!!
