The Bluejay
April 2024 Edition
Hello from Mrs. Teague
I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to each of you for your invaluable support in our recent endeavors. Your dedication to our school community was demonstrated through your participation in voting for the school bond, which has now passed successfully. We are so excited and beyond grateful for the opportunity to upgrade our existing facilities in order to better serve our students, staff and community. Your commitment to securing a brighter future for our children is truly appreciated. Additionally, thank you for joining us at the Leader In Me Family Night. It was a BLAST! Your participation and engagement underscore the strength of our partnership in nurturing the leaders of tomorrow. Together, we continue to shape a positive and thriving environment for our students to grow and flourish. Thank you for your unwavering support!
Coming SOON!
In the next several weeks, we will be completing end of the year normative benchmark assessments. For K-2, this will include NWEA Map Growth (reading and math) and NWEA Map Reading Fluency (Dyslexia Screener) In addition, 2nd Grade will do the NWEA Map Fluency Oral Reading Passages. These assessments will be completed April 26th-May 10th and will be used to help determine students with reading deficiencies.
Student growth reports will be shared with parents in student Leadership Binders that will be sent home the last week of school.
End of the Day Routine
A friendly reminder to call the office before 2:45 to make end of the day changes. If you need to pick your student up in the office, you will need to do that prior to 3:15. Otherwise, what is listed in Kid Account at the time of dismissal will be the after school routine implemented for that day. We will not pull students from their listed routine during pick up and departure time.
Making reading fun in the outdoors!
We know getting your children to read can sometimes be a challenge. This resource provides some activities that brings the great outdoors and reading together. If you try out any of these activities, I would love for you to send a picture in of your student reading outside for our Brag Board.
