Pennies For Patients
Peine Ridge Elementary just finished up their second annual Pennies for Patients fundraiser to support The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. During this four week service learning project students participated in several projects that teach them about Leukemia and Lymphoma and participate in service learning projects as well. Projects included letters to heroes, a cooperative mural, awareness posters, and positive quotes. The goal was to raise $3,000 and we raised a total of $5017.23. News From The Nurse
It's that time of year again! It is the end of the school year and time to clean out the nurse's office of student medications. According to district policy, medication cannot be sent home with a student. If the medication is not picked up by the last day of school it will be disposed of as follows:
**if the medication (inhalers or pills of any kind) expires over the summer- it will be discarded.
**any prescription medication not picked up by the last day will be discarded.
**any over-the-counter medication for returning students that does not expire will be kept locked up in the nurse's office until next school year-HOWEVER- a new doctor's order and parent permission will be needed in order to dispense that medication during the next school year.
Please call the nurse's office with any questions or concerns.
Than you for your co-operation making the end of this school year run smoothly.
Sincerely,
Nurse Arje
