School Safety Raptor System
This year, Tipton High School will be getting a new system that checks the background of individuals wanting to enter the building. Although it is less convenient, we feel that this will make our students safer. When adults want to enter the building, they are required to hand over to the building secretary their driver's license. This license then is put into the Raptor System and a background check is completed. This is just another way in which THS is working to make sure our students remain safe while at school!
Test Remediation and Preparation
Still the most important pathway to graduation, the ISTEP+ test will be given this year to all sophomore students for English/Language Arts and Algebra and Juniors and Seniors who have not yet passed the ISTEP+ test. In order to better prepare our students to pass this test, THS has created remediation and test prep mini-courses that will take place during each student's Resource. In order to streamline this preparation, high priority standards were identified, each high priority standard will have a focus week, and then problems will be given through IXL. This course work will only be performed on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday of each week. Remediation is starting as of today and will go through to the test in December. Test preparation will begin later in the year and will follow a similar process as remediation.
