Fifth grade had SO much fun at the park! They voted for this as a reward for filling their marble jar. 🙌🏼😍 They also deserved a break after giving it 💯 percent on their MAP reading test!
This is our last week of MAP testing! All make-ups will happen this week. The testing window closes this Friday, June 1st.

MAP testing begins next week for all students in grades K2 to 8!
~Students in grades 2 to 8 will take the Reading, Math, and Language assessments.
How can I support my child at home to best prepare for the MAP test? Great questions!
Here are a few suggestions:
- Talk about what it means to do your best on MAP...there is no studying needed the night before! Students should come to school, ready to try their best and give 100%. Remaining focused on the question that is being asked, using test-taking strategies, asking for breaks as needed, using scrap paper provided to think through questions, and to take their time!
- Talk with your child about individual and personalized goals they have set for themselves and with their teacher.
- Make sure your child has a good night's sleep and eats a healthy breakfast the day of MAP testing. It is always best to have your child at school on time, but it is extremely important during testing. It is diifuclt for students to enter the classroom space late when their classmates have already started the testing.
Students in grade 4 created MAP "Growth Mindset Office" Dividers!

Lower Mills Virtue of the Month Student Showcase
Jezzlyn, Daniela, Kensie and Melanie, from Grade One...thank you for exemplifying Love to Others by taking care of our School Community!
These four wonderful girls decided that they wanted to make sure our playground area and recess yard was clean and clear of trash. They decided to spend their own recess time on "clean up duty" and did they ever! The girls went to Nurse Tanya to ask for gloves and asked a teacher to supervise them while cleaning up. They wanted to spread love by making sure our school community was clear of trash and debris, so the Early Childhood students could play safely on the playground. We are so proud of your leadership and your extraordinary efforts to work as a team. This example of showcasing Love to our Earth, Mother Nature, our School Community, to each other, and to God!
