From the Principal's Desk
Hello Rose Pioneer Families,
Thank you to everyone who joined our Young Fives and Kindergarten Enrollment Open House! The postcard below has registration information for anyone who may have missed the open house. Please spread the word about Rose Pioneer's excellent culture and feel free to contact the main office for any assistance necessary to get your child(ren) enrolled. We also have outstanding preschool and summer programs with more information also found below.
From March 4th - 14th, all classrooms competed in our March Coin Drive. In total, Rose students collected 237 pounds and 6.5 ounces of coins! Mrs. Widdis' class came in 3rd place, Mr. Snodsmith's class came in 2nd place, and Ms. Kovacevska's 4th graders came in 1st place with a total of 62 pounds and 1.9 ounces in coins. Pioneer Parents will use these funds to support all of the fun activities they have planned for this year and the total amount of money will be announced once it is all counted. Thank you to everyone who participated!
On April 8th, the Rose Pioneer school community will join residents across Oakland County to experience a partial solar eclipse during the afternoon beginning at approximately 1:58 pm. We are planning an outdoor activity and lesson around this unique learning opportunity for elementary students to experience. While we are providing an opportunity for our elementary students to witness the partial solar eclipse outdoors using eclipse glasses we've purchased, please know that we respect and support your right to have your elementary student opt-out. If you DO NOT want your student(s) to participate in the outdoor solar eclipse activity on April 8th, please refer to the opt-out email that was sent out earlier this week, or click here: https://forms.gle/vGD126ZnqhAgcGJ69. Students who opt-out will remain in the building. The form must be completed by 3:00 pm on Wednesday, April 3rd.
On April 18th, Rose Pioneer will host our annual Family Engagement Night from 5:30 - 7:30 pm. This free event is always a hit and this year we are focusing on math games and science engineering. Please mark you calendar and join us for a fun night of learning for the entire family!
Save the date and mark your calendar, April 26th is the Rose Pioneer Carnival from 6 - 8 pm. More information will be sent home with all of the details following Spring Break.
Rose Pioneer's Annual Education Report (AER) provides key information on the 2022-2023 educational progress for Rose Pioneer Elementary School. It also addresses the complex reporting information required by federal and state laws. You may obtain a paper copy in the main office, or find it posted on our website here: https://www.hask12.org/downloads/annual_ed_reports/22-23_rel_aer_letter.pdf.
Is there a teacher, staff member or administrator you would like to recognize or praise? Please use the link below to shout out the good things you see (or hear from your student) happening at Holly Schools! We are all one team, and we are all working towards the goal of growing successful students. The Leader in Me & Core Competencies: Habit 6 Synergize
Synergizing means together is better. Synergy is achieved through two or more people working together to create a better solution than either would have thought of alone. It’s not your way or my way, but a better way. An important part of being able to synergize is the ability to value differences and diversity in thinking.
Ways to practice Synergy at home: Cook a meal together and assign everyone a job to do, work together to plan a fun afternoon that everyone can enjoy, or create/build something new.
