Sue Clay- "I would like to nominate Sue Clay for jumping in quickly to help with behavior management & clean up in the cafeteria when I was by myself."
Moneka McDonald-"I nominate Moneka McDonald for always going the extra mile to make sure students are engaged & learning throughout each day no matter what circumstances are in store."
Danielle Duncan-"I would like to nominate Danielle Duncan for providing an extra set of hands during Literacy Block when in search of a substitute."
Marcia Spencer- providing assistance in two classrooms this week while we were in search of substitutes.
Jennifer Beck - "She is so AWESOME at giving us positive feedback and caring support."
Kathy Sprouse - "She always is here for the kids. I can always count on her. She goes above and beyond what her duties are everyday to help our classroom, our students, and me."
Making our Hive Thrive
K – A teacher was using engaging ways to teach letter sounds during literacy assignments and the students were collaborating about their answers.
K- A teacher was eager to try a behavior modification with a student that was having difficulty sitting on the rug during instructional time.
1 – A teacher took it upon herself to dig deeper into the mclass data to help make decisions for LLI placements.
1 – Teachers are designing literacy assignments that are engaging and increasing the amount of time with eyes on text.
2 – Teachers are collaborating about literacy block and ways they can incorporate browsing bags/good fit books.

In our School Improvement Plan, we have listed Instructional Rounds and Vertical Team PLCs as action steps in providing professional development for our teachers. Instructional Rounds will be held November 3 and 5. Teachers, please follow this link to provide feedback that will help us design these days.

November 4 is a Required Teacher Workday. Teacher Assistants will be involved in a "Math Share Fair" that will be led by the District. Teachers will participate in a one hour session on SchoolNet from 7:30-8:30. We will meet in the Media Center for this SPP session. Following the SchoolNet session, teachers will be free to work collaboratively on planning or as needed in individual classrooms. Teachers will then participate in an afternoon session of Professional Development that will be led by the District.
Please remember that October 27 is an Optional Workday for YR staff and Parent/Teacher Conferences for TR staff. November 10 is an Optional Workday for all and so is November 26.
