Taylor Celebrates Inclusion Week
This year Taylor has partnered with the Special Olympics to become a Unified Sports School, which allows us to have Peer Coaches (5th-grade regular ed students) who play alongside our special needs students in our unified activities and in PE class. It also allows us to offer unique opportunities to some of our students. Along with our teachers, Ms. Dayton has organized some great events for our students. The students work in partners and have made new friends. They have played soccer, unified basketball, and gone roller skating. Everyone is looking forward to upcoming events such as basketball skills, unified soccer and our unified field day with Struble Elementary.
This week we are also celebrating Inclusion Week and placing an emphasis on embracing others for who they are and accepting others in everything we do. There are special announcements each morning and an Inclusion Oath that we say each morning. It has been great to hear the stories of how students made an effort on the playground to include their some of their peers in what they were playing.

Time to Check Student Supplies!
Box Top Leaders!
The top six classes with the most Box Tops, so far, are the following: Basil 143, Kersting 125, Geers 110, Adelsperger 47, Beason 33, and Bischoff 29.
The collection of box tops has changed! It’s now an app for your phone (search for Box Tops for Education). When you buy a Box Tops product, scan your receipt and Taylor Elementary gets credit for the Box Tops. After taking the picture of the receipt, click on the star at the bottom of the screen and type in your child’s homeroom teacher’s name. That way your child’s homeroom gets credit. Whichever class has the most Box Tops in May will win a party of their choice.
There are still some products that have Box Tops on them. Cut those out and send them in. Have your child bring them to room 114 for a candy treat. These will count toward your child’s homeroom amount too.
If you have any questions you can email me (abeason@nwlsd.org) or Mrs. McGuire (kmcguire@nwlsd.org) or call us (825-3000).
Thank you!!
