Principal's Message
I am so excited to share that the students at Partee ES continue to make strides in academic performance. In just one year, our students made the highest gains of all elementary schools based on data from the GCPS Weighted School Assessment (WSA) - the district performance measurement tool. In addition, our CCRPI score increased from 74.8% to 82%!
Our teachers have been working so hard to make sure they are delivering effective instruction that is aligned to the standards. This type of progress would not be possible without their expertise and commitment and your support. We appreciate all that you do!
Congrats to Ms. Turner, 3rd grade teacher. She was recognized by the GCPS Board of Education for having 100% attendance for the 2016/17 school year. Way to go Ms. Turner!

Title I Parent Workshop and Math Night
Are you wondering about this "New Math" the students are learning?
Join us for the Title 1 Workshop - Numbers of Fun, on November 15, 6:00-6:45 to learn about:
- The standards the students must master at each grade level.
- How these standards are taught at each level.
This workshop is followed by Math Night, 6:45-8:00. A FUN event for the whole family!
RBES Parent Perception Survey
Last year we only had 88 parents participate in the survey. With over 725 student attending Partee ES, we hope to at least double the number of participants. Please visit the school website or click on the following link to take the survey: Parent Perception Survey. Just select Partee ES as your school.
The deadline to complete the survey is November 16.

Encourage Reading to Build School Success
It is not surprising that reading is the first of the three R’s: “reading, writing, and ‘rithmatic”. The ability to read and write is essential to mastering other school subjects and necessary to communicate what is learned. Children who enjoy reading will continue to learn throughout their lifetime. You as a parent have an important role in helping your child to be a better reader as you know your child better than anyone. Here are some ways to raise your child to be a reader.
Take your child to the library often and check out a variety of age-appropriate books.
Encourage your child to read at least 15 minutes daily either to you or independently.
Take along a book for your child where ever you go. Read in the car, on the bus or in the waiting room.
Read to or with your child every day.
Continue reading with your child even after they have learned to read on their own.
Be a role model—read on your own. By seeing how much you enjoy reading, your child will learn that it’s fun.
Reading is a skill and it gets better with practice. When you encourage your child to read, you are helping to ensure their success in school.
Safety and Security
Emergency Procedures - Please be sure to follow check-in and check-out procedures and the procedures for car riders. These are in place to ensure safety of our students. Also, we will continue to practice our required fire drills, tornado drills, hard and soft lock down drills regularly. The School Resource Officers (SROs) will be assisting us with the hard lock down practices throughout the school year. Remember that these practice sessions are necessary so that everyone knows what to do in the event of a real emergency.
