Tri County Elementary
The Week of April 29, 2024
For the Week of: April 29, 2024
Notes from the Office
- Springtime always brings a lot of activities as we finish out the school year. Please be sure to check the "Upcoming Events" listed below for the dates of all the end of the school year activities.
- On Tuesday and Wednesday, Fifth grade students will complete their final MStep tests for the school year! It is very important that students are in attendance to complete testing. A good night's rest and a healthy breakfast are helpful to be successful.
- Please plan on students going outside for recess daily. Spring can bring wet, muddy playgrounds. Please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for the temperatures, including a jacket and boots. Extra clothes are a great idea if they get wet at recess and need to change.
- End of the school year field trips are coming up! To volunteer in the classroom, participate in field trips, or events, a Volunteer Consent Form must be filled out. A new form and background check must be completed each school year. This can be obtained from the office. These forms are sent offsite to be reviewed. Please give 2 weeks for applications to be processed. A copy of your state-issued driver's license is required to process all volunteer applications.
- If your student is absent, please call the office attendance line, (231) 937-4380, press 6. Absences must be reported to the office within 24 hours for it to be excused. A reason for the students absence must be stated or it will be considered unexcused. If you know ahead of time that your student will be absent, a planned absence form can be filled out and submitted to the office. Planned Absence Form
End of the Day Changes
Student Dress Code
As temperatures warm up this Spring, please be mindful of the student dress code. Should your child choose to wear shorts, they need to be long enough so that they come down to the child's fingertips when their arms are held down at their sides. We do not encourage students to wear sandals/flip flops to school. (They often break) If your child chooses to wear this type of footwear, please make sure he/she has a pair of covered shoes (athletic, etc.) to change into for recess/gym class.

Music is Looking for Donations
Our music teacher, Mrs. Morris is excited to start bucket drumming in music class! For this, she is asking for donations of 5-gallon plastic buckets. You can find these at home improvement or hardware stores, or if you have extras that are in good condition that you would like to donate it, it would be greatly appreciated. Donations can be dropped off to the elementary office. We are hoping to have a set of 29 buckets. Thank you!

Lost or Damaged Book?
Accidents happen, and we want to work collaboratively to address these situations in a positive manner.
Our library relies on shared responsibility to ensure that our resources are well-maintained and available for everyone to enjoy. To maintain the quality of our collection, we kindly ask for your cooperation in addressing any damaged or lost books.
If your child’s library book is lost or damaged beyond repair, please email Mrs. Gould at mgould@tricountyschools.com for options, including payment for the book, book replacement, or alternative arrangements.
Our goal is to create a positive and inclusive library environment for everyone, and your understanding and cooperation contribute significantly to achieving that goal.
