MCSC - Family Connect - 9/27/21
September to October
Secondary Complex Principal's Message
Our staff and students have done well returning to school and remembering what it is like being "back to school" during September. As October approaches, we have much to look forward to. Homecoming festivities, NWEA and College Board assessments, Wednesday Late Starts, and Count Day to name a few.
I encourage you to read through this newsletter and update those family calendars.
Grateful to Be a Bather!
Mr. Kirk Duncan
Principal, Secondary Complex
Student Drop off & Pick Up
Please shift all student drop off and pick up to the parking lot nearest the practice fields and gymnasium. The parking lot nearest the main entrance is for staff parking and the bus loop. We are keeping students safe by keeping them on the sidewalks instead of crossing through the parking lot bus loop.

Late Start Wednesdays
This Wednesday, Seminole Academy and the Secondary Complex will have another Late Start. The purpose of these late starts is to provide time for our teachers to collaborate, work together, and grow professionally. So, classes will begin an hour later, but the release time remains the same. King Academy does not have late starts as their teachers have this collaborative time already built into the weekly schedule.
Here is some very important information for bussing on late start Wednesdays. Seminole Academy bus pick-up times will be an hour later, and school begins at 10:05 AM. At the Secondary Complex, busses will run at their normal morning pick-up times, and classes begin at 8:25 AM. Early arriving students will remain in the Cafeteria and be safely monitored by Security and other school personnel. Breakfast will be served upon arrival at both buildings.
Again, Seminole's morning busses will run an hour later than normal, but Middle and High School busses will remain at their normal morning pick-up times. Secondary students are welcome to take advantage of the extra hour in the morning and find their own transportation that would bring them to school a bit later than the morning busses but need to be in the building by 8:20 to not be tardy for the first hour start time.
