Tom Pendergast
Born on July 22, 1873 in Saint Joseph Missouri, Tom Pendergast was educated at St. Mary’s College. With one sibling, James Pendergast, he was on his way to riches. He was a white male that had heard that alcohol was becoming illegal in the 1920's, and that's when he started to make money. He then made his way to the top of the ladder, making him the political boss of Kansas City. He was like a gangster because he was involved in multiple criminal activities. Later in life he was imprisoned in a federal prison for 15 months and had a 5 year probation for tax evasion. He loved the 1920's because he got away with so many crimes such as selling alcohol for profit. He eventually died on January 22, 1945.
