On May 29, 2014 the St.Peter Museum of Arts will be showing art from the Renaissance period. There with be painting from the most famous artist. We are very to have the actual Statue of David imported from Italy. There will also be a lot of other art works in the building. Down below there is a small summary of some art work at will be shown. Well we hope to you there.
The Last Supper 1495-1498
The Last Supper was painted by Leonardo de Vinci. Leonardo painted the painting because an employer asked him to. Leonardo took about 3 years to finish the painting. The original painting of the Lat Supper is 15 ft by 29 ft. The Last Supper is now hanging in the halls of the Convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie in Milan, Italy. Leonardo's version of the Last Supper has real people actually acting like real people.

Mona Lisa
Mona Lisa 1503-1506
The Mona Lisa was also painted by Leonardo de Vinci. The Mona Lisa is an oil on panel. They say that Mona Lisa must of been a Florentine merchant. The Mona Lisa is the most recognized painting in the world. Leonardo painting this picture for Mona Lisa's husband, but it turns out that Leonardo kept the painting for himself. There on he went to go work for King Francis I of France. People say that the Mona Lisa is to have many secrets hidden in the paint. Like her smile, the background and all the hidden part in the painting. The Mona Lisa is actually a very small painting that only people look at it for 15 seconds. The Mona Lisa is now in Musee du Louver in Florence, Italy.
Michelangelo's David 1501-1504
The Statue of David all started off a biblical story of a young man named David who is brave enough to take on a giant Goliath. When no older man would take the challenge. The bible says the David fought Goliath with no armor. David defeat the Goliath with a slingshot and one single stone. When the Statue of David was finish it was put in front of the Palazzo della Singoria, the government hall of Florentine, but later on moved to Galleria dell'Accademia. The details on the statue are incredible you can see the muscle starting tense up and the eyes are meant to facings Rome.
Battle of the Centaurs 1492
Michelangelo was only 17 when he started working on the sculptor. The story behind it is that the battle took place between the Lapiths and the Centaurs that the wedding of Pirithous. Pirithous was the king of the Lapiths. Pirithous tried to make peace by inviting the Centaurs to his wedding. When the Centaurs got to the wedding they tried to take Pirithous's wife and run off with her. When the Lapiths saw they right away decal battle.
