Winter Celebration
On Thursday, December 14th, the annual Winter Celebration took place at Choice School. We had a great time seeing all the smiling faces of friends, families, and community members.
Choice students and staff poured time, effort, and creativity into each of the rooms that were themed around different holidays from around the world, such as Winter Solstice, Hanukah, or Krampus. There were crafts or activities to do in each room including paper bag lanterns, decorating ornaments, or face painting. Families also could meet Santa in a festive room that had you convinced you had walked straight into the North Pole. So much pride went into the decorating of the school and that is all thanks to the Choice students and staff.
Thank you to the Student & Family Resource Center staff and volunteers who cooked and served dinner and hot chocolate. About 400 hot dogs were served, 300 cookies (generously donated from Alderbook Spa & Inn), 200 bags of chips, and hundreds of cups of hot chocolate. You may have noticed a bright green thing in the background of some photos...thank you to our Grinch who took the time to interact with so many kids and families. Ninety wrapped gifts were given out that were all donated by World Vision.
The Sunshine Foundation was handing out hundreds of beautiful hats.
Care-a-van was on-site offering flu and COVID-19 vaccines.
South Sound Reading Foundation donated hundreds of books for children to take home.
It is impossible to thank every person and organization who had a hand in helping pull together such a fun event. But, most importantly, thank you to the families that took the time to come out to the Winter Celebration!
