MARKET WATCH
GTA REALTORS® Release April 2019 Stats TORONTO, ONTARIO, May 6, 2019
Toronto Real Estate Board President Garry Bhaura announced that Greater Toronto Area REALTORS® reported a substantial year-over-year increase in home sales in April 2019. The number of residential transactions jumped by 16.8 per cent to 9,042 compared to 7,744 in April 2018. On a preliminary seasonally adjusted basis, sales were up 11.3 per cent compared to March 2019. New listings were also up year-over-year by eight per cent. However, the annual growth rate for new listings was much lower than that reported for sales. This suggests that market conditions continued to tighten which points toward an acceleration in price growth.
Everything to do, see, eat and drink at Stackt, Toronto’s new outdoor market made of shipping containers
For years, this 2.5-acre lot at the corner of Front and Bathurst sat vacant as the city debated its fate. The parcel of land is destined to one day become a park, but for the next few years, it has been leased to Stackt, Toronto’s newest fully-accessible market built out of 120 shipping containers. Stackt is a mix of event spaces, retailers, restaurants, services, galleries, and it even has its own brewery. With the shipping containers occupying only a third of the land, the remaining outdoor space has been landscaped with AstroTurf, a beer garden and a gravel pavilion that will soon feature a giant fire pit to keep the space animated straight through the winter months.
Adding value, convenience with basement bathroom
Keep in mind temperature fluctuations, extra moisture with below-ground addition
The convenience of an extra bathroom comes with a lot of appeal for homeowners. The question is: where should you add it?
A new bathroom on the main floor is a possibility — as long as you have the space. Can your main floor accommodate a full bathroom? Often, I’ll see homeowners opt for a half bathroom (toilet and sink) — and while this will definitely add some use and value (especially for entertaining guests), it may not provide enough utility.

4 Things You Shouldn't Skip on When Buying a Home
Buying a home is expensive. Although you may be tempted to cut corners here and there to save some cash, there are certain things you should never skimp on when it comes to your abode. Cheaping out may save you in the short term, but it can cause major headaches—and end up being way more expensive—in the long run. Here are four things you should never skimp on when buying a home, according to real estate experts:
16 Creative Uses For Disposable Chopsticks
As those of us with a knack for making frequent Chinese takeout orders can attest, a surplus stock of disposable chopsticks can pile up in no time, getting bigger and bigger with each new order of Kung Pao chicken. Luckily, these useful wooden utensils have far wider potential beyond lifting noodles and sharing orders of Crab Rangoon.
Foods That You Should Never Refrigerate
Fridges are one of the most important parts of our kitchen. The ability to cool our food can keep them fresher for longer, saving time, money, and reduces the risks of eating spoiled foods. However, not all that glitters is gold – while your milk may benefit from cooling temperatures, there are a surprising number of items you should not refrigerate.

The Top Seven Ravines in Toronto
Toronto is blessed with a ravine system that is (or should be) the envy of most major North American cities. It is impossible to imagine this city without its ravines, which have offered an escape from the urban landscape from the beginning of settlement here.
Here are 7 amazing ravines to lose yourself in the city.

BEST NEW RESTAURANTS 2019
An odd thing happened over the past year: one after another, some of my favourite restaurants closed up shop and reopened as something new. It wasn’t that they were flops—the owners or chefs had decided they wanted to change course, go back to their roots or simply chase their bliss. This has worked out well for the hungry public. The class of 2019 has originality and heart to spare in every wood-fired steak, meticulously arrayed seafood plate, rustic bowl of pasta and glass of low-intervention wine. Here’s a tour of the most exciting new restaurants right now.
