STATE ASSESSMENTS
Parents - State Assessments are right around the corner. Students need to bring their own headphones and a charged Chromebook for state assessment days.
- Juniors will be taking the Science Assessment the March 26th and 28th during their Science classes. Students without a science will be assessed during an hour they are at school.
- Juniors have been issued the rubric and guidelines for the Social Studies Assessment.
- Sophomores will be taking the ELA Assessment April 2nd & 3rd during there English Class.
- Sophomores will be taking the Math Assessment the week of April 9th & 11 during their Math class.
Attendance is important on the days of the assessment. Thank you.

AMERICAN HISTORY EVENING
The Junior Class will be hosting their American History Research Evening on Wednesday, April 3 from 6:30-8:30 PM throughout the AHS building. Come and enjoy a walk through the past and listen to the historical music of the AHS Jazz Band! Families, friends, and the community are all welcome! Come one, come all to support the students!
NHS LEUKEMIA & LYMPHOMA FUNDRAISER
The National Honor Society's fundraiser to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) begins March 25! Donations are used to fund LLS's mission to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease, and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. This year we have a goal to raise $3,500 between March 25th and April 12th. Donations will be collected during 3rd hour classes, and the 3rd hour with the most donations at the end of the campaign will receive a donut party. If you would like to help us as we support LLS, please send cash or check (made payable to LLS) with your student, or click here to make an online donation. Thank you for supporting National Honor Society and LLS!

AFTER PROM PARTY - PARENT HELP NEEDED
Hello, parents! We need your help with the 2024 AHS After Prom Party, which will take place April 20 at Chicken N Pickle. All juniors and seniors (and a guest) are invited to attend this free party -- even if they don't go to prom beforehand. The students will enjoy a fun night of pickleball, food, games and prizes. There are two ways you can help:
1. Make a donation. Any amount is appreciated. You can Venmo @andoverafterprom24 (Amanda Kibbe Schuster) or can drop off a check payable to the Andover After Prom Party to the school, attention Jennifer Milner.
2. You can volunteer at the party. Karen Blackburn will be coordinating volunteers. Send her an email at knblackb@outlook.com if you can help out.

We are excited to continue this opportunity for families in Andover this semester! Have you ever had questions about how to support your children or their learning and not been sure who to ask? Take advantage of our program that will connect you with our district’s Family Engagement Consultant, Alysia Rich, for a one-on-one conversation to discuss your specific questions. Some ideas about topics to discuss are:
understanding grades or assessments
how to establish routines and habits at home
how to best support your child’s learning
behavior and responsibility

COUNSELOR'S CORNER
AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION HEART BALL AMBASSADOR PROGRAM
Ambassadors are a group of selected high school sophomores who participate in educational and social programs and activities. The Ambassadors will be presented at the American Heart Association's Heart Ball. The activities will occur during the 2024- 2025 school year.
The Ambassador program is intended to be fun and prepare young leaders to be future heart advocates. Becoming an ambassador is an excellent resume builder, since these young men and women have the opportunity to learn valuable leadership development skills and network with peers. Attending the required sessions will equate to community services hours earned. (1.5 hour per session)
