Every single day, every single period, every assignment matters.
Our Bulldogs are making us PROUD!

Please continue to check your myStudent Parent Portal for messages and up to date information. This is the main line of communication between the school and you regarding school issues, your student's attendance, your student's grades, and more.
Reminder: Please talk to your student about their behaviors and how they can make good choices while on campus as ZHS. Fighting behaviors, class skipping behaviors, profanity/vulgarity, and disrespect will not be tolerated at ZHS or in any Pasco County school.
*We will be sending home any students refusing to attend their assigned classes, are out in the hallways/restrooms each period/repeatedly, that run away from staff, or are disrespectful to staff. Class attendance and participation is vital to your student's success at ZHS each week and throughout the school year.
Bulldog PRIDE:
Our behavior, academic, and conduct standards are exemplified through Bulldog PRIDE.
PRIDE stands for
Proud
Respectful
Individual Thinker
Dedicated to Academics
Engaged
Closed Campus:
ZHS is a closed campus. Students are expected to remain on campus for the entire school day and do not have permission to leave campus for food/lunch. Additionally, outside food, food delivery, and food sales is not allowed, as it jeopardizes our Free and Reduced Meal status. These deliveries will be refused.
We are Bulldog STRONG!

Bulldog families, we need YOU!
TESTING
As we enter the final weeks of the 23-24 school year, students will be pulled for assessments and testing. Many of these assessments are required for graduation.
A portion of our school grade is based on whether or not we meet the 95% tested for each assessment.
- This past week, for the 9th grade BEST writing, 93.5% sat for the test.
- For 10th grade, 91.2% sat for the test.
- We did not meet the 95% tested for either grade.
We will continue to push for the 95% threshold for EVERY assessment.
Please ensure your student is present at school and ready to test.
Some students refuse to come to the test, have their cell phones or electronics out (causing an invalidation), or "Christmas tree" the test. Some students even say, "I'll just do it on the makeup day" ...and then they don't. This impacts their graduation status and our school grade.
Please review the list of dates below and mark your calendar to ensure your student is ready.

Breakfast
All of the breakfast carts are pulled once the bell rings for Period 1 to begin.
- At that point, the only students who will be able to get breakfast will be the ones with the late bus pass they receive when they arrive on campus.
- Students will continue to be in the commons before the bell, but once it rings—they cannot report to class and then leave to go get breakfast. They can grab it and go on their way to period 1 or choose to forfeit their access to it.

ZHS School Advisory Council (SAC)
What is a School Advisory Council?
- The school Advisory Council is the means for community and parent involvement in and support of the schools.
- The School Advisory Council is composed of the principal, teachers, school staff, parents, business and community representatives, and secondary students.
How can I become a SAC member?
- Elected members of the School Advisory Council include teachers, educational support personnel, parents, and secondary students.
- Members are also appointed to the council by the principal to represent business and the community.
- Students serve as SAC members for a one year term.
- A chairperson is elected annually by the SAC membership.
Any parent, community business member, teacher, or student interested in serving on our SAC committee for the 2023-2024 school year--please email Mrs. McCafferty at cmccaffe@pasco.k12.fl.us for a nomination form. This is a great way to get involved and stay connected to your Bulldog family.

Timely Pick Up Reminder
Once students have completed practice, a school event, or their campus meeting(s), they need to be picked up or make arrangements to safely walk home. We have many instances where students did not have a ride or were on campus long after their event had concluded. If this continues, students will not be permitted to continue in their activity.

- The myStudent App can be found by searching myStudent Pasco in each respective store.
