Annual Staff Giving Campaign
Dear District 15 Employee:
The new year brings with it the beginning of District 15’s annual fundraising drive. This year, our charitable efforts will benefit our very own one-five Foundation.
The one-five Foundation is dedicated to raising money to give away to staff by acquiring resources to be used to enhance programs and support innovative projects that will supplement the educational experience of District 15 students. To date, the one-five has invested nearly $2 million toward enhancing the educational experience of our students through various programs and events. We are beyond grateful for their partnership, but need your help to continue to grow what they are able to provide staff and students in D15.
This year, the one-five Foundation has set a truly exciting and lofty multi-year goal to fundraise in order to provide flexible seating in every school's LRC! Additionally, they are passionate about expanding our Blessings in a Backpack program in order to ensure our neediest students have food over the weekend when free school meals are unavailable. We are so thankful for our partnership with the one-five and, again, need your help to make these goals become a reality!
This year the District’s fundraising drive will run from Nov. 7-22 and we are hoping that all 2,000 employees will help contribute — no amount is too large or too small. The following two methods are available for staff to make contributions:
Payroll Deduction: Deductions will begin January 15, 2020 and will continue through May 29, 2020. Contributors using payroll deduction must contribute a minimum of $10 ($1 per paycheck) and deductions will be made equally on all 10 paychecks.
Personal Check: Employees wishing to contribute in one payment should do so by personal check payable to the one-five Foundation.
Staff that contribute $50 or more will be entered into a raffle for a PAID DAY OFF OF WORK!
Together, District 15 employees can truly make a real difference in the ongoing effort to ensure our students have access to food over the weekend and that our staff and student benefit from 21st century flexible seating to our LRCs. We encourage you to please give generously and assist the Foundation in its work to support our students and school community. Let’s do this D15—together we can do anything we set our minds to!

COMING SOON: New District Logo!
District & school website homepage refresh
You can expect both subtle and more apparent changes with the design of the page. Most notably, the headlines and features section currently on the front of the homepage will go away, allowing for a cleaner, modern look that is easier for our schools to maintain. A smaller announcements section will take its place. Secretaries and building leadership: Look for an email from the communications team tomorrow explaining how to update this new section of the site (and don't worry, it's very easy!).
There are some additional features you may enjoy, including a new "Explore District 15" section that will showcase programs and curricular initiatives.
We hope you enjoy our new website homepage and district logo!
D15 Standout Staff: Kim Wimer!
"Kim works very hard to meet the diverse needs of our students. She creates great relationships with students and teachers, and consistently demonstrates care and compassion for everyone. It is a pleasure to work with Kim, and I'm always learning from her!" -Erika Heller
District Math Professional Learning Launch
This professional learning series will be focusing on shifting ownership to students through the use of student discourse. This learning aligns with school improvement efforts and aligns with best practices across all content areas. Teacher participants have already begun utilizing this learning in their classrooms by trying new thinking and instructional approaches during math.
