Hour of Code & NEW Coding Apps
Hour of Code was a big success! We had students at all grade levels coding last week. It was so wonderful to see their excitement each time they wrote a successful series of codes. If you'd like to share resources with your students and their families, please direct them to code.org.
I am also pleased to announce that we now have coding apps available on all of our iPads!
Kindergarten - Kodable
First Grade - The Foos & ScratchJr
Second Grade - The Foos & ScratchJr
Carts - The Foos, ScratchJr, & Swift Playgrounds
If you would like any instruction on these apps, please email me!

PARCC Sample Test Items
Last week, PARCC released a series of sample items from the 2015-16 assessments for grades 3-8. The test items are actual questions from last year's assessments. The released items represent approximately one full test per grade level, for both English Language Arts/Literacy and Mathematics. Please click here to access the test sets, answer keys, scoring rubrics, and sample student responses.
Digital Intelligence
The picture below illustrates the 8 interconnected areas of Digital Intelligence (or "DQ"). As educators and leaders, it is important to prepare children for the digital age.
