How often do we look back in history and remember the heroes who had sacrificed their lives for the country? After ten long years of painstaking research the makers of the epic Ramayana and the recent, Hatim brought to the small screen a television series based on the last ruler of the Chauhan dynasty, the Rajput ruler Prithviraj Chauhan. Well known for his chivalrous deeds, bravery, courage and glorious exploits Chauhan was also known as the Warrior King.
Dharti Ka Veer Yodha Prithviraj Chauhan (Prithviraj Chauhan, the Brave Warrior of the Land), the Prithviraj Chauhan TV show, which portrays the life of Chauhan, his early life, exploits as a military leader, all the transitions that he went through and especially his love interest for the Princess Sanyogita, one of the most popular medieval romances. Being the daughter of his enemy Jaichand of Kannauj, this romantic story between them was popularly highlighted in the show. The story traces how the love between them was so pure and eternal, that even the distinct difference between the Rajput clans that they belonged to could not keep them apart.
Striking gold for his role in the television series, Tokas also became a household name following the success of the show. Other actors who were in the series include Milind Gunaji as Vijaypal, Jas Arora as Someshwar, Benjamin Geelani as Shivendra, Karambekar as Kamalavati and Sunila Karambekar as Kamalavati. This series also had a popular soundtrack which was composed by Ravindra Jain. While the title song was written by Dr. Sohan Sharma it was composed by Gaurav Issar. All the songs were sung by Indian classical singers; Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty and the King of Bollywood music, Udit Narayan. Other popular singers were Babul Supriyo, Roop Kumar Rathod, Sadhna Sargam, Shreya Ghoshal and Suresh Wadkar.
