Dear East Middle School Students, Parents, and Guardians:
We've got some good nuts and bolts details within the newsletter, so make sure to review it! Before you scroll down, please see these important reminders:
- Our lost and found is going to be donated again...very soon. Encourage your student to check the pods and the main lost and found table.
- Our end of the quarter No Tardy Party will be taking place on March 16th.
- Spring break is just around the corner, but there is a lot of fun and learning to be had between now and then. Students - Try not to lose sight of all the hard work you can accomplish this next week.

April 3, 2018 Levy Issue
April 3 election
The April 3 ballot will include the Proposition R-P proposed levy increase and Board of Education candidates. Prop R-P asks voters for a 75-cent operating levy increase. At the same time, the debt service tax rate is scheduled to decrease by 30 cents, resulting in a net tax rate increase of 45 cents.

The high school event will be followed at 7:30 p.m. by a Board Candidate Forum sponsored by the Ray-Pec PTA Council.
Absentee voting
Registered voters who expect to be prevented from going to their polling place on Election Day may vote absentee now through Monday, April 2, in the Cass County Clerk's office at 102 E. Wall, Harrisonville. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 31. For any additional information please call 816-380-8102. Absentee voting
Cell Phones at School
1st offense: Warning and student pick up
2nd offense: 1 hour detention, parent pick up
3rd offense: 2 hour detention, parent pick up
Dress Code Reminders
- Clothes that fit in the Fall may not fit this Spring.
- Students should consider bringing a light jacket or sweater to wear in colder classrooms.
- Students with apparel that does not meet dress code will be asked to change or add a layer.

SPRING HAS SPRUNG!
NWEA Testing: May 7th through May 18th
We do ask that if at all possible, try to schedule doctor's appointments, and other times when students are out of class, for before or after school during these testing windows!

Student Attendance at After School Events
Students are expected to remain in the stands during the games unless utilizing restrooms or concessions. Middle school students will have a designated section in the south end zone on the field and will have access to the nearby visitor concessions and restrooms.
