COVID UPDATE
Due to the volume of exposure in our county, all COVID student exposures being reported to Topeka Public Schools are to be reported online by going to TopekaPublicSchools.net. This process will allow us to address the current parent COVID needs and allow nurses to carry out their regular school duties and meet daily student needs. Please click on the link labeled Reporting a COVID-19 Exposure, which is on our main web page. Based on the information parents provide, an emailed response will be given informing you of the date your child can return to school and your child's school principal and nurse will be notified.
Families are asked to complete the self-reporting form for any COVID exposure. If a parent does not have internet access, they can call the COVID-19 reporting line at 785-438-HELP (785-438-4357) to report a COVID exposure. Schools will redirect families to the form on our web page or to the number to call.

READING
Mrs. Pine, the Reading Interventionist at Chase Middle School, is conducting research to identify the negative impact caused to Chase students and their families by the pandemic. We plan to use this information to design and implement plans to better meet the needs of our students and families during this unprecedented time in their lives and our teaching careers.
We would like to invite any and all adults responsible for Chase students to participate in the research by completing the following survey. All information is completely anonymous.
You may complete the survey by going to: bit.ly/ParentSurvey22 or by scanning the QR code with your phone. Your participation is appreciated!
From Mrs. Halverson - Physical Education
We have finished up our Winter Olympics unit where students participated in hockey, speed skating, biathlon, bobsledding, and curling. Teams were awarded bronze, silver, and gold medals for their teams and Canada was our overall winning country.
We are starting our two week pickleball unit. This is a lifetime activity that students can enjoy for years to come. After pickleball we will be doing a one week health unit over mental and emotional health.
Don't forget that if your student misses any PE classes they can make up the work by doing 30 minutes of physical activity outside of the school day. All parents have to do is sign a piece of paper saying what the activity was and how long they did it.
