WHAT'S IMPORTANT TO KNOW THIS WEEK?
PASTA FOR THE PLAYGROUND FUNDRAISER
FUNDRAISER - PLEASE RETURN FORMS BY MONDAY
Our Fundraiser is coming to an end. I am hoping you can give it one more big push. I am hoping to get a big jump on the playground piece. Please return your fundraising sheets and money to school. We will get that back to the PTO so they can put in the order. Please return all sheets and monies by Monday!
ONE AND ONLY IVAN - RICHMOND FAMILY BOOK CLUB
Every family should have received a copy of The One and Only Ivan at conferences. If there are more than one child at Richmond, it went to the oldest child. We are hoping to promote reading for the whole family with one of my all-time favorite reads. The One and Only Ivan is a touching tale of animals, friendship and love. Be ready for trivia contests for free books coming next week. We will be playing the movie on the night of December 7th. We hope you enjoy this reading experience. Thank you to our PTO for sponsoring this event.
We have a suggested timeline of reading. It is a pretty quick read. I will have the reading calendar linked to our newsletter each week.
TUESDAY - PUMPKIN RUN - 5:30 PM
WHAT IS THE PUMPKIN RUN?
This is a PTO sponsored and Richmond PBIS run event. All families who sign up early will be given a free pumpkin (courtesy of the PTO). We will set those pumpkins around the Richmond "Pumpkin Patch". We will have music and Tom's Coffee Truck selling hot chocolate and coffee starting at 5:30 PM. At about 5:45 PM, we will send everyone around the pumpkin patch for a mile run/walk. Families will find their pumpkin and take it home after they walk. At around 6:10, we will draw names for any extra pumpkins AND TWO specially carved pumpkins donated by the Rades family (Will be the final year you can win these). We do plan on running a 50/50 raffle. We will be sending half of the money to the family of Evan Williams, a former Richmond student. Evan had a stroke in September and the whole family has had to be at Madison''s Children's Hospital for the last 40 days. Once a Rocket, Always a Rocket!
You need to be present to get your pumpkin or win other prizes. Students can wear costumes to walk/run around the pumpkin patch. Any unclaimed pumpkins will be raffled off with the other items.
BRING CASH TO BE A PART OF A 50/50 RAFFLE FOR OUR FORMER FAMILY
Looking forward to seeing everyone on Tuesday!

ATTENDANCE MATTERS - INFO FROM THE DISTRICT
Success Starts with Attendance
If a student misses 10 days per year for the lifetime of their school career, that adds up to 140 days… almost a full school year. Research and experience teach us that students with poor attendance are at greater risk for school difficulty. Making up missed schoolwork is very helpful, but missed classroom instruction cannot be made up.
