Morning Drop Off
If you are dropping your child off at the front of the school in the morning, please be sure to pull your car all the way up to the front of the drop-off area. Cars have been stopping near the garden entrance, which causes a backup. Students can still enter through the garden doors, but will need to walk on the sidewalk after getting out of their car. Thank you!
Lightning or Emergency Dismissal
We will begin the following procedure for Lightning or Emergency Dismissals:
CCE Office staff will notify parents of a lightning dismissal before 3:25 PM. Lightning must be closer than 8 miles away. CCE Office staff uses the Weather Bug app to determine the distance of lightning.
Parents should park and come into the gym starting at 3:25 PM- please come in through the gym door.
The gym will be divided into four sections - alphabetically around the gym.
Parents will scan a QR code on their phone, which will take them to a Google form to fill out with their child’s name and teacher. You will have to scan the QR code and complete one form for each of your children separately.
Once the Google form is completed, your child will be released from class to the gym to find their parent or guardian.
If an emergency dismissal were announced, parents would be notified by CCE Office staff as soon as possible and families would follow the same pick up procedure.
If any students remain at school past 3:50, parents will be called to have their child picked up. Parents will pick up their children at the main entrance if it's past 3:50.

This article has some of my favorite studies that have been done on psychology. The human brain really is fascinating. These studies give us so many insights we can use in parenting.

There's a free online masterclass series about to take place. Some of my favorites are speaking this year… Big names like Dr. Shefali Tsabary, Dr. Laura Markham, Dr. Tina Bryson, Dr. Lawrence Cohen and more are coming together to share practical, tailored-for-busy-parents tips for raising happy, well-adjusted kids. It starts on Sept 22nd, but you can reserve your FREE spot by clicking the link below. Check out the full masterclass list by getting registered.

3) DO
The kids in our area have been in remote learning the last few weeks. But this week was the first in-person option since before the pandemic. It's very strange, weird, and all together odd for everyone... students, teachers, and parents alike. Conversations don't tend to flow as well when you're having to wear a mask 24/7. I thought I'd share some fun open-ended questions I created a while back that you can use with your kids.

The Pop Tab Recycling Program
The Pop Tab Recycling Program is a fundraising project to support Ronald McDonald House Charities of Denver. The Ronald McDonald Houses in Denver and Aurora serve as a home away from home for many families whose children are seriously ill and are undergoing treatment at a local hospital.
How the program works
Aluminum beverage can tabs are collected and sold for cash. Also tabs from soup, tuna, and fruit etc. cans can be collected.
These little pieces of metal can make a big difference!
Pop tabs can be delivered to the Ronald McDonald House of Denver, 1300 East 21st Avenue, Denver, CO 80205. They are then taken to the recycling center. In- or out-of-state groups can recycle the tabs themselves and send the proceeds to the Ronald McDonald House, as well.
This project continues to be a success because it makes it possible for any individual or group to make a contribution. It is an easy and fun task for young and old and a great way to lend support to children and their families during a time of crisis.
*Since the 2000-01 school year, the families of Coyote Creek have helped collect over 450 gallons of tabs! Every gallon collected equals one night at the Ronald McDonald House. This has allowed families to stay at the Ronald McDonald House for FREE for 450 nights!
Please collect your tabs and your child can bring them to the front office. Thank you so very much for helping!
