Gathering on School Grounds
As part of the safety protocols put into place parents are not allowed on school grounds, including at drop-off and pick-up. We have staff members stationed around the building in the morning and afternoon to keep the kids safe and to make sure they get to where they need to be. We know this is a big change from what we are used to but we are asking for your diligence in following these guidelines and to help keep us all healthy by not lingering on school grounds, stopping to talk with teachers, etc. Thank you for your support!
Reporting an Absence
When reporting your student’s absence to the school please utilize the absence reporting form via the parent portal link here https://cve.bvsd.org/school-life/attendance or call the attendance line at 720-561-5459. Please do not email teachers as they are not always able to check their emails during the school day.
School-site Covid Testing
As you may have seen in the message from BVSD earlier this week, free Covid tests are being provided at school sites for students, families, and staff. A team of BVSD employees will be administering saliva tests from 10am-4pm and will move around the district. So far these sites are scheduled:
January 15: Meadowlark School
January 19: Whittier Elementary
January 20: Emerald Elementary
January 21: University Hill Elementary
January 22: Monarch High School
Crest View will have them here in the near future. We will let you know when we have that date so watch the e-blast and your emails!
There is also a permanent site at Centaurus High School offering the nasal swab test. Please refer to the message for instructions on how to register for either of these options or any of the COVIDCheck Colorado sites.
Full-Day Childcare
The School Aged Care (SAC) program will be running a full day program at Columbine Elementary starting on January 11th from 7:30am until 5pm if you need care on Mondays. Registration is open on their website at https://childcare.bvsd.org/
School Meals and Food Bag Distribution
All Students attending in-person can receive free breakfast and lunch through the end of the school year. No paperwork or verification is required to receive free meals.
The BVSD food bag distribution will continue on Mondays. See this page for locations and times.
Food distribution is provided to all BVSD families. Remember there will be no distribution on January 18th. It will resume on the 25th.

Picture Day
Individual school pictures will be on January 19th and 20th for both in-person and home-learning students.
Home learning students can sign-up here: https://bvsd.helpatschools.com/schools/7/events/7182. To help maintain social distancing please arrive on time, pull up to the front of the school and park in the Hug & Go lane, and stay in your car or on the sidewalk until the photographer is ready for you. If you cannot bring your child to have their picture taken by the photographer please contact Deann at deann.wright@bvsd.org.
Order forms will be sent home this week. All families can order in advance online at https://hofferphoto.simplephoto.com/prepay/42482776.
Note: due to distancing protocols we will not be doing the traditional class photo but instead Hoffer Photo will create composites for each class. These photos wil also be used for the yearbook so we really hope every child will have their picture taken so they can be included.
Giving Snowman Update
The annual “Giving Snowman” was a huge success again this year! Everything was different this year from how people donated, to gift cards only, to personalized delivery but the Crest View community stepped up and provided gift cards to over 75 Crest View families (over 150 children). City Church on Jay Road donated gift cards to 40 children. Together this is an amazing show of support for Crest View’s families in need. What a wonderful community!
Thank you to all who participated!

Zapster's Rolling Out
Our Zapsters program will be starting up again next week. For those of you that are not familiar with the program, Zapsters helps to encourage our students to use human powered transportation to get to and from school each day. Through a simple RF tag, your child's daily trips will be logged and they will be eligible to receive prizes and gift cards. Each week one student will be recognized on CVTV for their efforts. If you are interested in learning more about the program and registering your child, please click here for more information. Past participants, your old cards and helmet tags should still work so please continue to use those. Any questions please contact Kelly at crestviewzapsters@gmail.com.
If you would like to receive occasional correspondence from Reach Out Crest View (ROCV), Crest View's PTO, regarding community events, fundraising, and ways to get involved, please send an email to: rocvsecretary@gmail.com.
